From Mountain To Seaside
Georgian adventure
Georgia is a small country. So petit, that you won’t even see it on the map if you don’t zoom in. luckily, we are in the 21st century and it is easier to find us.
We have everything, mountains, rivers, lakes, desert, sea, caves, and even dinosaur footprints.
Where to start when you come here? GO CAMPING!
Little Hater Talk
Nevertheless, our coastline is not perfect compared to the Mediterranean seaside, there are places, which you will find exotic.
Batumi is very popular because of the nightlife, but for me, it is another big, tasteless and noisy city. All “trendy” Georgians and Russians collide in this ugly city every summer (preferable July and August) not to miss rave parties and then post the evidence on IG stories. This is the period you’ll see lots of photos on social media with neon lights in the background.

Back to the point
So where were we? Right, we were hitchhiking down to Tsikhisdziri. we changed several cars and had tedious conversations with lots of strangers. But if you are a hitchhiker, This is the way, as in Mandalorian.
Tsikhisdziri is a village along the black sea coast. There is only one big hotel- Castello Mare, other than that there are only guesthouses and campsites at the beach. You’ll be getting Woodstock vibes. camps, bonfire, chilly music, people with a guitar, and so on. You’re getting the mood right?
So, we finally got to the beach. It was a hot day. I had jeans and boots on. The only thing I wanted was to fix the camp and go into the sea to cool down.
New People
One of the best things about hitchhiking and camping is meeting new people. You might not see them afterward, but they do become delightful moments of your adventure. Sometimes you even do crazy things with them. For instance, at this beach, we met a bunch of teenagers. We exchanged our camping stories, sunbathed a little bit, and before the sunset, we hitchhiked with them to the nearest city to do some shopping. In the evening, we even went to the weird “restaurant land” near Batumi.
Spiders
Are you terrified of spiders? Well, Hellen is and if you are like Hellen never leave your tent unattended.
After returning from the “restaurant land” we headed to the tent, and boom, it was covered with spiders, like in one of the Mummy movie episodes. As Sheldon Cooper would say: “The Horror”
At night some stray dog was scratching on our tent at my ear, I was half-dreaming, and I thought it was a giant spider trying to eat me!!
Morning
We hitchhiked back to Tbilisi the next morning.
Fin!
Stay tuned!
